Winter Is the Perfect Time of Year to Tune Up Your Rental Property

December is a great month because everyone is getting ready for the holidays and the new year to come but for landlords, it’s also a great time of year because you can take the time to focus on getting your rental property “tuned up” for the year to come.

Water Pipes Maintenance

Make sure water pipes are insulated. This will prevent pipe bursts due to deep freezing. 

Water Heater Maintenance

Get a tune up for your heater. Most people are charging $50 to make sure your furnace is running in tip top shape. If you have a chiller or cooler, it’s also time to get that thing winterized too. Wall units that have been dusty all year need to be vacuumed out to prevent fire from first usage.

Sprinkler Maintenance

Make sure sprinkler timers are reset to cover the cold. If you are in a snow environment, you should blow any remaining water out of the lines and get your landscaping ready for the winter by pruning back plants and grass should be prepared for the winter too.

Chimney Maintenance
